We have updated our audition info with show dates and general time commitments.  We have also added a section with brief descriptions of the roles we will be casting.  Again this list is just partial and we are looking for folks of all types, backgrounds and experiences to make this production truly special!  See above for links to the pages you will find most helpful!

Valley Musical Theatre is proud to announce auditions for its 2009 Musical  “The King and I” !!!

WHAT:   “The King and I” has roles for actors, singers, and dancers of all ages !!!

WHEN:  April 18th at 1:00 PM  (Callbacks April 20th at 6:00 PM)

WHERE:  The Little Theatre (Ellensburg High School)

REQUIREMENTS:  Singers will be asked to present 30 to 60 Seconds or 16 bars of any song (unaccompanied).   Dancers and actors do not need to prepare anything for the auditions.  All children auditioning must take a singing audition; adults auditioning for a non singing role are encouraged to sing, but they are not required to do so.

VMT is proud to announce that its summer musical for 2009 will be Rodgers and Hammerstein’s smash hit ” The King & I “ !   Join us in a journey to 19th Century Siam and meet the king who would open his country to the western world and the Englishwoman who tries to help him, at times in spite of himself.  VMT will be presenting “The King & I ” with all of the lavish sets, costumes, dancing and singing that this classic so richly deserves!  So be sure to save the dates and keep an eye on this site as we update you with all of the details…audition clinic, audition dates, opportunities to volunteer and more!

VMT has appointed Torrance Blaisdell as their newest Executive Director.  Tor will be in charge of daily operations for VMT and assist the board in planning new intiatives and artistic vision.  Tor is a professional opera singer with over 14 years of experience singing with companies across the US, Europe and Asia, including two years with the Broadway cast of  “Phantom of the Opera”.  He recently moved to the area with his wife Dr. Gayla Blaisdell newest member of the CWU music faculty and their two children Tristan and Lydia.  “We are so excited to join a community with such a rich tradition of dedication to the arts and can’t wait to become a part of it all!” – Tor Blaisdell
